Azerbaijan secures 27.8% of Georgia’s oil imports

Georgia imported 27.8 percent of its needed oil products from Azerbaijan in January-November 2013, the Georgian National Statistics Office reported.
In total, about $841.2 million worth oil products were imported by Georgia in the mentioned period of time.
Georgia imported some 250,990 tons of oil and oil products in January-November 2013, valued at $233.84 million.
However, the volume of oil and oil products imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan decreased 23.55 percent, equaling 59,010 tons. Georgia imported around 305.86 million worth of 310,000 tons of oil products in January-November 2012.
The specific weight of oil and oil products amounted to 42.93 percent in the total volume of imports from Azerbaijan during the reported period.
Georgia also imported around 1.2 billion tons in oil equivalent,
of natural gas worth of $207.44 million in January-November
Azerbaijan is the main supplier of this kind of fuel to Georgia with a specific weight of 83.76 percent of Georgia's total volume of imports in this category. In total, Georgia imported $247.66 million worth of natural gas during the reported period.

Azerbaijan currently exports petroleum, petroleum oils and gases, gypsum, anhydrite, plaster and other products to Georgia, while imports motor cars, live bovine animals, iron bars and rods, and from Georgia.
