Bulgaria to continue to work for Nabucco-West implementation - President
By Gulgiz Dadashova
President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev said that Bulgaria will
work to facilitate the implementation of both the Nabucco West and
the South Stream gas pipeline projects, AzerTag state news agency
reported.
"I am sure that the Nabucco-West project retains its strategic
importance for the European energy policy and has its place on the
map of Europe," he said at the 41st Plenary Session of the General
Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic
Cooperation, PABSEC, running in Sofia on July 9- July 11.
The president added that Bulgaria and its partners would continue
to work for its implementation.
Nabucco-West pipeline was supposed to transport Caspian natural
gas to Europe from Turkey through Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary,
and terminate in Austria.
The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has emerged as a winner in a long
race, primarily against the Nabucco project, in a June 28th
decision by the Shah Deniz Consortium.
