Youth Theatre to tour across country

By Laman Ismayilova
The Azerbaijani Youth Theatre is launching an amazing tour across the country from June 27 to July 1, Trend Life reported.
The tour is part of an action plan of the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry under the State Program on combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and their precursors and drug addiction for 2013-2018, as well as the Azerbaijani theatre in 2009-2019 years program.
The play "White Death" will be staged in different regions of the country, including Shirvan, Neftchala, Bilasuvar, Lankaran, Lerik and Astara.
The performance which is based on the work “Family Ghoul" by Vasiliy Sigarev, addresses the problem of drug addiction.
Vasiliy Sigarev is a Russian playwright, screenwriter and film director. His plays Plasticine, Black Milk and Ladybird were first produced in the West by the Royal Court Theatre. The screenwriter was named the winner of the Charles Wntour Award for Most Promising Playwright given out by the Evening Standard for Plasticine.
Sigarev's work had not been seen in New York until a production of Black Milk was produced Off-Broadway in July 2012. Directed by Columbia M.F.A., student Michel Hausmann, the production received mixed reviews.
