National kamancha performer releases his first poetry collection

Well-known Azerbaijani kamancha performer Khayyam Mammadov released his first poetry collection "Oh, my Heart" ("Ay ürək"), Trend life reports. The editor of the publication is Akif Hazan, art editor- Hokume Mursalova.
Khayyam Mammadov’s poetry collection includes poems bout deep feeling of love, heroes, wealth and beauty of The Land of Fire and the desire to plunge into a world of bright colors and creativity.
"My poems still exist because of great love for the Homeland, which I've tried to convey through poetry and the sound of kamandcha", he said.
Kamancha is bowed string instrument, which is widespread amongst Eastern and Central Asian peoples under a variety of names.
The kamancha is described in the works of medieval classical poets. Mir Seyid Ali, representative of the 16th-century school of painting, depicted the barbat (lute), daf ( frame drum) and kamancheh in his work called "A Musical Gathering".
