Common terminology of Turkic languages being drafted

Azerbaijan works on drafting a common terminology collection of the Turkic languages, said Sayali Sadigova, Deputy Chairman of the Terminology Commission under Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
The common terminology collection covers various fields such as technology, computer science, and others, and includes words of international importance.
“The dictionary contains more than 6,000 words, something that had never been done before,” she told Trend on March 2.
The dictionaries will be printed in the Azerbaijani, Turkish, Kazakh, Turkmen, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages, she added.
The Turkic languages are spoken over a large geographical area in Europe and Asia by approximately 73 million people in the world. It is spoken in the Azerbaijani, the Turkmen, the Tatar, the Uzbek, the Baskurti, the Nogay, the Kyrgyz, the Kazakh, the Yakuti, the Cuvas, and Turkey dialects.
