By Laman Sadigova
The famous American saxophonist, Charles Lloyd, accompanied with his quartet will perform on the stage of the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Baku on October 30.
The concert program will take place as part of the Baku International Jazz Festival.
Lloyd is American jazz legend, winner of many renowned awards. Over the years, he amazes the audience with his great music, performing it on the tenor saxophone and flute.
He is a forward-thinking musician whose supreme improvisational talents and interest in cross-pollinating jazz with rock as well as non-Western styles of music during the '60s and 70s' established him as one of the key figures in the development of fusion and world music.
The Baku International Jazz Festival is an annual jazz event aimed at showcasing Azerbaijan's long-running attachment to the American-born art form, a connection first established in the country during the 1950s and 1960s, during a time when jazz was outlawed by Soviet authorities.
Many famous musicians from a dozen countries, including Georgia, Portugal, Italy, Israel, USA, Germany, Canada, and Russia, have thus far participated in the festival.
