A commemorative event within the framework of “Justice for Khojaly” international awareness campaign was held in the headquarters of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum in Istanbul on February 24, on the eve of the 23rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

The event was aimed at briefing on the essential activities of the ICYF-DC planned for 2015, events and their topics, as well as visual materials to be used.

Addressing the meeting Elshad Iskandarov, president of the ICYF-DC said: “Actually, under the pretext of the 100th anniversary of the fictitious Armenian genocide, Armenia and the Armenian lobby increase their efforts in the international arena to cover up for Khojaly massacre and in the process denigrate Turkey. Taking into account one of the main goals of the “Justice for Khojaly” campaign to fight against Armenian lies, we will launch a special awareness campaign against these two crafty plans this week.”

Iskandarov added the campaign will continue until April 24, the Gallipoli Commemoration Week, which was announced by President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Speaking about the details of the campaign Esra Öztürk, Director of Media and Training of ICYF-DC explained that the main slogan of the campaign will be “Fight to Light a Fire the Liar” as to bring truth to the world's attention.

She also mentioned that April 24 will be devoted to the Gallipoli Memorial Ceremony.

ICYF-DC will organize another project: an international competition on "Gallipoli: 100 Years, 100 Stories of Humanity" as part of a comprehensive struggle to counteract the Armenian lobby's lies.

Providing information on the events within the Campaign, Sevinj Iskandarova, project coordinator of the ICYF-DC, noted that these events will cover a wide geographical area, from tent of "Justice for Khojaly" in Vienna to a conference at the University of Gent in Belgium, a planned mass demonstration in Columbia and a prayer at Jakarta's largest mosque.

At the end of the event guests were presented with over 15 different written materials.
