Baku mulls military cooperation issues with foreign countries

Azerbaijan has discussed the military-technical cooperation with a number of countries, as Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov received on September 11 the military officials of several countries, who visited Baku to attend the first Azerbaijan International Defense Industry Exhibition "ADEX 2014".
First, Hasanov met head of office of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia Vladimir Artemyev.
They discussed the relation in military-technical sphere between Azerbaijan and Russia.
Azerbaijan's defense minister also met with representative of the French General Directorate for Armament (DGA) International Development Directorate Major General Jean Christophe Noureau.
During the meeting, they exchanged views over military and military-technical issues of mutual interest. French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier was present at the meeting.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan and Croatia have discussed military, military-technical and security affairs on the sidelines of the ADEX 2014 in Baku.
The meeting between Hasanov and Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Drago Lovric featured discussions over military and political situation in the regions where the two countries are situated.
Azerbaijan's military cooperation with Pakistan was praised in a meeting between Hasanov and chairman of the National Engineering and Scientific Commission of Pakistan Muhammad Irfan Burney.
Noting that military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan is built on friendly relations, Hasanov said these relations are developing on a constant basis and are mutually advantageous.
Burney, for his part, said the bilateral meetings played an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries.
Also, an expanded meeting was held with the Malaysian delegation headed by Deputy Defense Minister Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri. The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
Hasanov also received the delegation headed by the Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus for Armament, Major-General Igor Lotenkov. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
Earlier on the same day, Azerbaijan's defense minister met with Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz. The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and a number of other questions of mutual interest.
