Armenia again breaks ceasefire with Azerbaijan
Subunits of the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire with Azerbaijan in nameless hills of Gazakh region, Horadiz, Ashagi Seyidahmadli villages of Fuzuli region, Shikhlar, Shuraabad, Shirvanli, Javahirli villages of Agdam region, Gulustan, Tap Garagoyunlu village of Goranboy region, and Gizil Oba village of Terter region on July 31 and August 1.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that Armenians were silenced with a retail fire.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made Armenia and Azerbaijan fought a lengthy war that ended with the signing of a fragile ceasefire in 1994. Armenian armed forces have since occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, defying the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on a pullout from the occupied territories.
