Resolution authored by Azerbaijan adopted at OSCE PA
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has adopted a resolution entitled "Consolidating institutions of civil society in OSCE region" authored by Azerbaijani parliamentarian Azay Guliyev at its annual session in Istanbul, Azertag state news agency reported.
The resolution contains a call for promoting the exchange of experience and information to ensure cooperation of NGOs, easing restrictions on information resources of NGOs and other institutions of civil society and involving them to resolution of outstanding problems.
The document also notes the need to consolidate the status of advisory agencies at the relevant bodies of the OSCE for non-governmental organizations.
It also points out to importance of providing an atmosphere conducive to the stability of activities and diversity of funding sources of NGOs.
Azerbaijan has authored a resolution for the first time since admission to the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE.
